View over Antananarivo from the terrace at the Royal Palissandre

Homes on the other side of the road from the hotel entrance;  someone was living behind every door and window.

Queen's Palace Antananarivo

This was taken for the sunlit banana leaves and the higgledy-piggledy buildings

Washing was always around; another house opposite the hotel in Antananarivo

The museum - the colours are not quite right and the verticals are all over the place, but it was a very large building and one could not stand back from it.

I love this shot - taken in Antananarivo

More washing

The houses all fit together so neatly

View of the heart shaped lake made for a Queen by her European lover

This Grecian style monument was where the Queen received petitions

Can you see the small boy bottom left of the opening?   (in Tana)

Lovely shady spot on a tropical day

Building site note reinforced concrete pillars and supporting  woodwork

Building work and more washing - the shed on the roof an additional home.

Hillside tapestry

Ladder to the penthouse

Lots more washing and overhead cables

Trainers on the sill

Hanging into the window
