The Lycian Coast

Monday 31st March

We went for a walk along the sandbar on the river at Iztuzu and saw some birds and a few flowers.   There were many footprints in the sand, of birds, reptiles, crabs and possible a mustelid who may have been hunting for small crabs.   There were some good photographic opportunities.

We had a picnic at Pinara then walked up the hill to see the Roman theatre and tombs.   P & H had some scary moments on the rocks, straying from the proper path.   P left his camera at the lunch spot, but Phil saved the day.

Meeting point for the minibus

The new Hotel in Kaş, The Hideaway Hotel, is very comfortable;  we failed to turn up to the briefing and were told off by management.   The shower was particularly enjoyable.   Dinner too was excellent and we had the first good cup of coffee.   The Restaurant is on the roof to give a view of the sea.

Squeezed orange juice in the morning was a joy too.   They had Marmite, but it was a little elderly having set solidly in its jar.
